Scholarships

Baldridge College Solutions worked with one family to identify 41 potential scholarships that were a good fit for their situation. The mother and student spent time the summer before the senior year as well as time in the senior year applying for theses scholarships.

There efforts were rewarded with seven scholarships totaling $39,000:

  • one for $6,000 per year for four years
  • one for $2000 a year for four years
  • one for $3000 one-time and
  • four $1000 awards

The student is now a freshman at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

Financial Aid

Another family came to Baldridge College Solutions in a panic for their daughter had been admitted early to her dream school Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. Wellesley is an all girls school with some notable alumni including Hillary Clinton. The cost of attendance is $50,500 annually.

Both their tax accountant and financial adviser told them that they were not eligible for financial aid so they did not even bother to apply.

An advisor met with the family in January of their daughters senior year in high school and determined that financial aid was possible. Since they already missed some filing deadlines, the advisor had arranged for extensions from the financial aid office at the college. After the advisor completed their taxes and submitted both the FAFSA and the profile, the family received a financial aid package worth almost $12,000.

  • $7,240 Wellesley College Grant
  • $2,625 Plitt Kirgan Loan (Low interest loan)
  • $2,100 Wellesley student work

The student is now a first semester freshman and loving it.

These are just a few of the hundreds of families we helped prepare and pay for college.
